Free

During this period of social distancing, Music at the Red Door is presenting free, live-streamed video recitals on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 17, at 12:15 p.m., keyboard artist Christa Rakich will perform a solo recital from her home studio, playing the pedal piano in an all-Bach program.

The recital will be streamed live, and later archived, at this link:

Program:
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750): Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor, BWV 582

A pedal piano is a variety of piano that has a pedalboard like that on a pipe organ, adding a lower register of notes that are played with the feet. Photos of the instrument that will be heard in today’s recital may be seen at Christa Rakich’s website, here: https://christarakich.com/instruments/#

Concert and recording artist Christa Rakich performs widely throughout North America, Europe, and Japan. She is Visiting Professor of Organ at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio through the academic year 2019-2020. Near her home in Connecticut, she maintains two Artist-in-Residencies: St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford and the Congregational Church of Somers. Past Artist-in-Residencies have included the University of Pennsylvania and First Lutheran Church in Boston.
