Wings: A Global Flight- Video Premiere & Community Discussion

– featuring 8 social music programs from around the globe

Permanent programs that build community through music education operate in tough circumstances all around the world. From the Music Moves Hartford Street Choir in the soup kitchens of Connecticut to the Light Orchestra on the streets of Mosul, Iraq, music is making meaningful change in lives around the world. Take a global flight with us as we visit eight social music programs in eight countries. Meet these change makers and witness the premiere of Wings, a collaborative music video that these eight groups have created together. Wings is co-directed by Ameen Mokdad (music director and founder of Mosul’s Light Orchestra) and Kevin Bishop (music director and co-founder of the Music Moves Hartford Street Choir in Hartford).

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this event will be streamed in high quality from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. Upon reserving your ticket you will receive a link by email that will take you to our digital concert hall.
